AnalyticsProof vs Trackingplan: real traffic or a simulated visitor
Short answer. Trackingplan sits in your traffic: a tag, SDK or server-side hook lets it see what real users send on web, iOS, Android and server-side, learn the schema and alert on anomalies, consent breaches and personal data. AnalyticsProof installs nothing: it sends one simulated visitor through journeys you recorded, every day, and compares what each step sends with what it learned on the first runs. Trackingplan sees more of what actually happens; AnalyticsProof sees less, but under the same conditions every time and before a release.
We make AnalyticsProof, so this is a vendor's comparison. Every Trackingplan fact comes from Trackingplan's own pages, linked at the end and checked on 2026-11-07. We did not use a Trackingplan account. If something is wrong or out of date, write to us and we will correct it.
What real traffic sees that a simulated visitor does not
You add "one tag, SDK or server-side hook", and Trackingplan infers your events and properties from live hits across 170+ analytics and ad tools. That gives it things a replay cannot have:
- every page, browser, device and country your visitors use, including pages nobody would think to test;
- the purchase on production, with real payments and real parameters;
- volume anomalies, attribution and UTM errors, and personal data in hits;
- iOS and server-side coverage.
Its consent monitoring "uses real user interactions rather than synthetic tests" and flags data sent without the consent it needs. It also goes past alerting: Trackingplan says it prepares a GTM fix "in a separate workspace", tests it on your site with and without the change, and leaves publishing to you.
What a simulated visitor sees that real traffic does not
AnalyticsProof replays a recorded journey in a fresh browser profile, from the country you chose, so the cookie banner appears as it does for a first-time visitor and is clicked only if your recording clicks it. Three things follow:
- Known consent state. The replay that clicked "Reject" knows the visitor rejected. A cookie-banner check on every plan also loads the page before consent, after accepting and after rejecting.
- Before release. On Professional, a GitHub pull-request check replays every active journey on the preview and fails the check when a required event the site pushes to its dataLayer disappears. Trackingplan's changelog marks its own regression-testing feature as deprecated, and its homepage describes testing fixes on the live site; we found no preview or staging check there.
- Nothing to install. No tag on the site, no SDK in the Android or HbbTV app. That matters where a new script in production needs a security review.
The simulated visitor is steadier than real traffic, but not perfectly steady: A/B tests, personalisation, geolocation or bot protection can still change what it sends. Events that appear only occasionally do not trigger alerts, and you can mark an item optional or ignore it. The comparison covers whether events and parameters are present and keep their JavaScript type (a number stays a number); values are not compared, except Consent Mode signals.
On purchases: on production we recommend ending the journey before payment, because it replays on every scan. On a test environment with a test payment method the journey can complete the order, and the purchase event and its parameters are compared there.
Comparison
| Trackingplan | AnalyticsProof | |
|---|---|---|
| Approach | Tag / SDK / server-side hook on real traffic | Simulated visitor replaying recorded journeys; nothing installed |
| What it checks | Learned schema: anomalies, missing properties, attribution and UTM errors, broken triggers; consent breaches and personal data in the Compliance module (Growth add-on €249/month, included in Enterprise) | Per step: dataLayer data and tool requests (GA4, Google Ads, Meta, Sklik…) vs. expected state; presence and JavaScript type; Consent Mode values |
| Checks values | Not stated on the pages we checked | No, except Consent Mode signals |
| Covers purchase | Yes, real purchases | On a test environment; not on production |
| Platforms | Web, iOS and Android SDKs, server-side | Web; Android and HbbTV on Professional and Agency, no SDK |
| Consent | From real users' CMP data; Compliance module: not on Starter, €249/month add-on on Growth, included on Enterprise | Before consent, after accept, after reject on every plan; Free at least monthly, paid plans daily |
| Alerts | Slack, Teams, e-mail, webhooks, API, MCP; also "your app, or your IDE" | E-mail; Slack from Starter; no webhook or Teams |
| Pre-release | Fix drafted in a separate GTM workspace and tested before you publish | Pull-request check on the preview (Professional) |
| API / MCP | Public API; MCP server and AI agent with credits | REST API and MCP from Starter |
| Entry plan | Starter €89/month, monthly, cancel anytime: 300k sessions, up to 5 sites or apps | Starter €49/month or €490/year: 1 website, 3 journeys, daily |
| Larger plans | Growth €699/month (monthly); Enterprise from €2,000/month, annual | Professional €149/month; Agency €99/month for 3 websites, +€29 per website |
| Free plan | No; trial of 2 days learning plus 7 days, no card | Yes: 1 website, 1 journey, every two weeks |
| Data location | EU: AWS and ClickHouse in Frankfurt, Cloudflare edge, Azure for AI; security docs also mention EU/US data centres chosen by the client; public DPA | Stored in the EU; some sub-processors, such as Stripe, also outside the EU |
Note the unit: Trackingplan's Starter covers up to five sites or apps for one price, AnalyticsProof Starter one website. For several sites, compare with our Agency plan or Trackingplan Growth.
Choose Trackingplan if
- you want to know what real users send everywhere, not on a few paths;
- the purchase on production is the event you cannot afford to lose;
- you need iOS, server-side, volume anomalies or attribution monitoring;
- you want an assistant that drafts and tests the GTM fix;
- a tag or SDK in production is acceptable.
Choose AnalyticsProof if
- nothing may be installed on the site or in the app;
- you want to test what still fires after "Reject" in a known state;
- you want a pull request stopped before a broken dataLayer ships;
- you have an Android or HbbTV app and do not want to add an SDK to it for testing;
- you want consent checks from the free plan.
The two can also run side by side: real traffic for coverage, a simulated visitor for release gates and consent states.
Our limits
- One simulated visitor, from one country per test: no real-user coverage.
- No value checks except consent signals; no iOS; no server-side event validation.
- Alerts only by e-mail and Slack.
- AnalyticsProof is a young product from a Czech company, Dataras s.r.o.
Before you decide
Run both on the same site for a week if you can: Trackingplan's trial and our free plan allow it. Compare what each caught and what each missed. To look at the consent side first, our free public check loads one page before consent, after accepting and after rejecting, without signup.
