AnalyticsProof vs ObservePoint: rules you write or a state that is learned
Short answer. ObservePoint audits pages across a whole site and runs scripted journeys, and you decide what correct means by writing rules, including value checks. AnalyticsProof only replays a few journeys you record, every day, and reports when what a step sends to the dataLayer, GA4 or other tools differs from what it learned on its first runs; it does not check values. Choose ObservePoint for site-wide coverage and value rules; choose AnalyticsProof for daily checks of key journeys with little setup, a pull-request check that replays them on a preview, and Android and HbbTV apps without an SDK.
We make AnalyticsProof, so this is a vendor's comparison. Every ObservePoint fact comes from ObservePoint's own pages, linked at the end and checked on 2026-11-07. We did not use an ObservePoint account. If something is wrong or out of date, write to us and we will correct it.
Who decides what "correct" is
In ObservePoint, you do. You create rules and attach them to audits or to individual journey actions. A rule can require that a tag variable is set, equals or does not equal a value, contains a text, matches a regular expression, or is at least or at most a number. That is precise, and it is work: every rule has to be written and kept up to date when the tagging changes.
In AnalyticsProof, the first runs do. After you record a journey, the first usable replays become its expected state: which events and parameters each step sends, and the JavaScript type of each parameter (a number stays a number, it does not turn into text). From then on, every replay is compared with it. Values are not compared, with one exception: Google Consent Mode signals, where granted turning into denied is reported. Because the tool only knows what the site did, not what it should do, a person has to look through the first expected state once and confirm it was right. After that, each reported change has four buttons: accept it into the expected state, mark the item as allowed to be missing, ignore it, or mark it as an error that stays a known regression until it is fixed.
Not every change is a site change. A/B tests, personalisation, geolocation, a rotating banner or bot protection can also make a replay send something different. AnalyticsProof does not alert on events that appear only occasionally, and the optional and ignore buttons handle the rest; it does not detect the cause for you.
Where each one looks
ObservePoint has audits, which scan pages, and journeys, scripted steps (click, input, select, execute…) built in the web app and run in Chrome on Linux from a choice of locations or your own proxy. Its analytics validation guide recommends a daily audit of the pages that receive 98 % of traffic and a weekly audit of all pages.
AnalyticsProof has journeys only. Anyone with editor rights records one in the dashboard, in a browser that runs on our servers in the country you choose, without a developer and, per our agencies page, in about 10 minutes. It replays daily on paid plans and every two weeks on Free. For each step it shows the requests of the tools it recognises, such as GA4, Google Ads, Meta or Sklik; changes are alerted for the dataLayer, GA4 and Adobe Analytics by default, and you can add other tools.
Comparison
| ObservePoint | AnalyticsProof | |
|---|---|---|
| Approach | Page audits plus scripted journeys | Recorded journeys replayed on a schedule, plus a cookie-banner check |
| What defines correct | Rules you write | Expected state learned from the first usable runs, reviewed by a person |
| Checks values | Yes (equals, contains, regex, is set, ≥, ≤) | No, except Consent Mode signals |
| Whole-site coverage | Yes, via audits | No, only recorded journeys |
| Covers purchase | Where a journey can complete one | On a test environment with a test payment method; on production we recommend stopping before payment |
| Platforms | Web; mobile apps through LiveConnect, a proxy you route a device through while you operate it ("within the scope of your contract") | Web; Android and HbbTV apps on Professional and Agency, without an SDK |
| Consent checks | Documented: Accept All / Reject All, opt-out audits and journeys, GPC | Before consent, after accept and after reject, on every plan including Free; Consent Mode values per step |
| Alerts | E-mail; Slack, Teams and Jira via e-mail; journey webhook | E-mail on all plans, Slack from Starter; no webhook or Teams |
| CI / pull requests | GitHub action "Start Audit" runs audits on push and pull request ("only available for Audits and not for Web Journeys"); journeys can be started via the API from any CI | GitHub pull-request check that replays every active journey on the preview, on Professional |
| API / MCP | REST API; MCP server documented | REST API and MCP server from Starter |
| Pricing | Public calculator, USD per year, "for reference only" | Public price list in EUR |
| Entry for daily journeys | $2,500/year for 1,500 journey runs (about four daily journeys), 36 support requests included | Starter €49/month or €490/year: 1 website, 3 journeys of up to 60 steps, daily |
| Free plan | 100 audit pages and 25 journey runs a year, no credit card | 1 website, 1 journey of up to 10 steps, every two weeks |
| Data location | No public EU region found; customer-data hosting per contract; transfers under the Data Privacy Framework and SCCs | Stored in the EU; some sub-processors, such as Stripe, also outside the EU |
On price
The figures are not like-for-like. ObservePoint's price includes onboarding, a customer success manager, SSO and many more features, and page audits and the $2,000 VPN option are priced separately. What they show is the entry point: about four daily journeys for $2,500 a year at ObservePoint, three daily journeys for €490 a year at AnalyticsProof Starter, and five journeys per website and per app at Professional (€149/month). Agencies pay €99 a month for three client websites and €29 per additional one, with Starter's features plus Android and TV apps (€49 per app), but without the pull-request check; see AnalyticsProof for agencies.
Choose ObservePoint if
- you need to cover every page of a large site, not a handful of paths;
- you want to assert values ("
currencyequals EUR", "value≥ 0"); - accessibility, email-link or landing-page validation sit in the same team;
- you need many scan locations, SSO and an established vendor for procurement.
Choose AnalyticsProof if
- the risk sits in a few journeys (product detail, add to cart, checkout start, sign-up) and nobody has time to write and maintain rules;
- you want a pull request blocked when a journey on its preview stops sending a required event;
- you also ship an Android or HbbTV app and want the same checks without an SDK;
- you want to start free and keep data stored in the EU.
Our limits
- We simulate one visitor; we do not see real users, pages nobody recorded, or problems limited to one browser or country.
- A wrong value in the right type passes:
990instead of1290is not reported. - No iOS, no server-side event validation, no webhook or Teams alerts.
- AnalyticsProof is a young product from a Czech company, Dataras s.r.o.
Before you decide
Trial each tool on your shortlist on your own site, ideally on the same journey for a week, and compare what each reports. Both have a free plan. If you want to start with the consent part, our free public check loads one page before consent, after accepting and after rejecting, without signup.
